| To the airport and back, and back again... :P |
[Jun. 16th, 2007|01:10 am] |
I got to do two round trips to the airport tonight. I dropped my parents off, got back home, and 15 minutes later was on my way back to the airport because dad had left the camera behind! It is even more incredible considering the photographic maniac he is! So, I was not exactly thrilled to get to spend 2hrs driving between the airport and home tonight.
I hope they have a good trip though. Dear mum was nervous! Dad was not surprised because he said she is afraid of the unknown, but I don't understand it. Not when it comes to travelling. New countries are an exciting adventure! :D |

Google your first name with eight different words: Needs Is Likes Wants Gets Says Does Eats
Lauren Needs Attention Lauren is not the delicate whispers of a mother chanting lullabies to her baby Lauren likes to joke that it was the roommate that scared him into getting married so quickly Lauren wants to help someone Lauren Gets Crafty Lauren says baby (15 months old) Lauren does not want to stay in Premiership Lauren eats pie during her lunch hour
Hmmm, not the greatest finds there. I identified somewhat with this one though: Lauren needs to work on her self esteem. She's a smart girl with potential. |

| Back home |
[Jun. 10th, 2007|09:07 am] |
Arrived back home in Melbourne at 7:30am this morning. I've barely slept except for a doze on the train to the airport (which almost resulted in me missing the stop) and what sleep I could get on the fairly brief flight.
Sydney was brilliant. Huge hugs to priestbeast and Fe for giving me a bed for the week. Had a fab time kitchen slutting at SUMS camp. Met some lovely Sydney dancers at a few dance classes. Had too much fun dancing during the week such that I had incredibly sore feet by part-way through the dance party on Friday night. Got lots of really nice compliments at the dance comp yesterday. Got into our intermediate final again, but once again didn't get to bring home a trophy.
Now I have returned to the real world and my upcoming two exams in the next two days. :P Can I get back on the plane and fly away again?
Ah well. Just a couple of weeks to get through and then BIV will be here. :) |

| [ | mood |
| | pleased | ] | When I roused myself yesterday afternoon I awoke to mum arriving home from a morning meeting at work. We were both suddenly under attack from dad on a warpath for no apparent reason. I was still tired and sick, and quite honestly too fragile to be able to deal with him in that state. Fortunately he was going out to do the shopping shortly, and I was escaping the house that evening. It was such a moment of, 'Oh god I need to move out' though.
But yesterday night was nice. I should be less of a hermit. :P Getting out of the house is a good thing.
The world is starting to look better again. The semester is almost over, I can see the light of the AGM approaching, and other business has happily been resolved. The concert especially made me happy. Gemma thought I was ripped off because I didn't get to bow, but the thanks that I received from people were worth infinitely more than me getting to bow (not to mention that it's simply not appropriate anyway). Ewan sent me some kind words during the week, saying to remember that it's all worth it in the end. He was right. :) |

Hooray for the concert last night! :D I was especially glad to make it all the way through the Mozart, having sat half of the Vivaldi out. Although, when you're only reading through the Vivaldi, you realise just how much of it is the soloists!
Huge *hugs* and thankyous to pyrrha17 and mawaridi. You are both simply awesome.
Thanks also to pezzae, saralonde24, sticky_toffee, sjl, Dash, Trae, Nick, Rosie, Jeff and the FOH crew for various support.
Hope everyones' friends and family who came along last night enjoyed the concert!
P.S. Could someone please post the movie night details ASAP? I didn't get a form and can't email everyone the details until I know them myself! |

Randomly found a thing on dzurlady's LJ to make up your name in funky letters. I was bored... Go here to procrastinate.

Cross your fingers for me for the competition on Saturday night!

| BREAKING NEWS: No rehearsal Tues 17 April |
[Apr. 16th, 2007|09:45 pm] |
In case you are not subscribed to MonUCS:
There will be NO rehearsal tomorrow, Tuesday 17 April, due to power outage at the Monash Clayton campus.
*************************************************** A message from Professor Edwina Cornish - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) *************************************************** Classes have been cancelled at Monash Clayton campus on Tuesday 17 April 2007, due to a power outage, including all labs and tutorials. Electricians are continuing to work to identify the cause of the power fault, which cut power to Clayton campus early Monday afternoon. ***************************************************
Due to the uncertain nature of when power will be restored, we have had to make the decision to cancel tomorrow's rehearsal. I am sending out an email to all members I have email addresses for, but please pass the word around so that everyone is aware of the situation.
Cheers, Lauren |
